Empty AAV

There is two different types of  empty particles:

  • Truly-empty AAV particles are generated through a process where only the necessary components for AAV replication(ad helper and AAV helper) are provided, resulting in capsids devoid of any transgene DNA.
  • Byproduct-empty AAV particles are unintentional outcomes that can occur during the production of regular AAV vectors. Byproduct-empty AAV particles are not truly devoid of genetic material, as they might contain partial or incomplete genomes.

They are different in their origin and the presence or absence of genetic material. This distinction is important to consider when working with empty AAV vectors for gene therapy and other applications, as it can impact the effectiveness and reliability of the vectors in delivering the desired genetic payload.

AAVnerGene provides both types of empty AAV vectors.
