The Syn promoter, short for Synapsin promoter, is a promoter commonly used in neuroscience research to drive gene expression specifically in neurons, particularly in their synaptic terminals. Synapsins are a family of proteins associated with synaptic vesicles in neurons, and the Syn promoter targets gene expression to these neurons and their synapses.
